Facebook’s New Publisher Leaves People-Tagging Broken

It seems that one key feature of Facebook -– the ability to tag friends in status updates by using the “@” symbol –- has been broken since the social network rolled out a new publisher in conjunction with the new Facebook Questions product on Wednesday. In an e-mail to Mashable, Facebook says that the company is “working to fix the issue” and that it only affects users who have the new publisher enabled (like most major new features at Facebook, the rollout of Questions and the new publisher is a gradual one). We’ve noticed several other issues since the launch -– notably, our Facebook Page has been failing to display recent updates.
